Passengers have been requesting to add extra compartments due to overcrowding on certain trains operating in the area under the Salem railway line. In this connection, the Southern Railway administration has announced that additional compartments will be permanently attached to the 4 trains passing through Salem. Accordingly, an additional three-tier AC box will be permanently connected to the Yesvantpur-Kochuveli Weekly Express (22677) via Salem, Erode, Tiruppur and Coimbatore from today (23rd).
